Club Christmas Party
16th December, 2018
16th December, 2018
So this is Christmas and what have you done, Another year over, a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun, The near and the dear ones, the old and the young
A very merry Christmas and a happy new year, Let's hope it's a good one without any fears
And so this is Christmas for weak and for strong, The rich and the poor ones, the road is so long
And so happy Christmas for black and for white, For yellow and red ones let's stop all the fights
A very merry Christmas and a happy new year, Let's hope it's a good one without any fear.

Another year over. Thanks to every member that has contributed, every member that has supported, and every Custom Addictions Club member that has come along for the ride so far.
The last function of the year appeared to be - on the surface - very nearly the same as the last function of last year. Big Bendi, BBQ, beer, sunburn, skids.... (skids???), and then more of that stuff - minus the sunburn - back at the Clubhouse. But it wasn't. If you looked closely there was one major difference. The weather. Who'd of picked it would be cool and raining in mid-December? Of course it'd be raining - the main committee organised this and not the Events Guys. And we all know the Events Guys only organise functions on sunny days.
However - having said that - it was still a real good day. All the kids had a blast on the waterslide and anyway, no-one wants to see adults take over the slide like last year.... So the wet kids had fun, the wet grown-ups had food and drinks and fun - and no-one cared about the drizzling rain. Later in the day back at the Clubhouse, instead of the sprinkler being set up and the blow-up pool being blown up, we stoked up the Custom Addictions 44gal for some warmth and then later lit the bonfire that had been built in the backyard for next winter. What a change from the last few years of 40 degree days. It was great to see families turn up and have a look at the pics below of the cubby-house that the kids built down the back of the block. What a ripper, well done guys and girls. Many thanks to Wilma (HK Monaro) for supplying an incredible array of food for the night, and thanks for doing the same every Friday night throughout the year. You are a wonderful asset to the Club. Which hopefully we can recognise your generosity by presenting you with this years "Presidents Award for Outstanding Contribution to Custom Addictions". Nice. You deserve it Wilma. Well done.
And so after numerous beers, heaps of the best movies ever made (Maximum Overdrive - A/C DC soundtrack - ya gotta see it to believe it: Duel - classic thriller and the first full-length feature film directed by Steven Spielberg: Fastest Indian - Kim's favourite movie of all time - and Midnight Spares - everyone's favourite move of all time) and a tomato sauce fight...... wait..... did I say sauce fight? Geez, well it was late, and there were empty bottles of spirits on the pool table, and there were only a few of us left, including those pesky kids.....
I'm gonna stop now.
See ya's all next year! Stay safe.
